The Libyan Red Crescent has started distributing food parcels in Derna following the removal of . . .[restrict]Islamic State forces. The distribution, undertaken in collaboration with local charities, is being done through local mosques.
According to local coordinator Salem Bin Saud, the Ramadan aid which also includes cleaning materials, is designed to help local needy and vulnerable families and will continue throughout the holy month.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, the Red Crescent, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has this week provided food aid in Zawia to 280 displaced families from different areas around the town. Similar assistance has been made in recent days in Ghat, Hun and Kikla.
A week ago, in the run-up to Ramadan, the Red Crescent provided food parcels to more than 200 displaced families currently based in Zliten. [/restrict]
