Benghazi, 12 May 2015:
Three children – two brothers and a sister – were killed today when a rocket . . .[restrict]smashed into their home in Benghazi’s Belawn distict. Another brother was seriously injured and is now in intensive care at Benghazi Medical Centre where doctors have been fighting to save his leg.
The three have been named as brothers Mohamed Ziyad Bujaldine, aged two, and Saleh Ziyad Bujaldane, aged twelve, and their sister Mariam, aged eight. The injured brother is Ibrahim, aged ten.
This is not the family’s first tragedy as a result of conflict in the city. Last October, the children’s uncle, Benghazi Security Directorate Colonel Zakariya Bujaldine was shot outside his home in Belawn, which is near to Hawari district.
A man was killed in missile attacks on Benina airport late this afternoon and 12 others injured, according to the airport manager Osama Mansour Al-Ferjani. He said that 20 missiles had been fired at the airport.
Random missile attacks continue to plague the city. The downtown Tibesti Hotel again took a hit this afternoon, this time on the third floor. On Sunday, three rockets hit the front of the hotel and a fourth landed behind it. There were no casualties as the hotel is closed at present.
Additionally, according to Jalaa Hospital, four Libya National Army soldiers were killed in the past four days, three in Leithi and one in Sabri. Twenty four soldiers had been wounded.
