Tripoli, 24 May 2015:
The Council of Elders in Sirte has denounced Libyan National Army (LNA) airstrikes in the . . .[restrict]town, saying that innocent civilians have been killed.
The council claimed that a Sirte resident and his 10-year-old daughter were killed, and two of his sons injured, when warplanes targeted a residential neighbourhood.
The international community and human rights groups must intervene, said the council, to bring an end to military operations in the town so that civilians will be protected. [/restrict]
