Tripoli, 15 May 2015:
After an outage lasting some 24 hours, Bani Walid residents had internet and communication services . . .[restrict]restored this morning.
A fibre optic cable was cut somewhere between Bani Walid and Tarhouna leading to the disruption of the town’s communications networks. It is thought that the cable was severed by an unauthorised excavation.
Bani Walid’s communications have long suffered from disruption, much like the rest of the country. Mobile telephone services from both Al-Madar and Libyana have been cut frequently, leading to disruptions to businesses.
