Tripoli, 8 April 2015:
Brega Oil Company has sent nine . . .[restrict]vehicles carrying fuel to the Islamic State (IS) stronghold of Derna on Monday and Tuesday, an official at the company has confirmed from Tobruk.
The official told News 24 Libya that the fuel was destined for the Derna steam station, which was out of diesel fuel and unable to operate.
Since Tuesday, three cars have been able to return to Tobruk, while six vehicles remain, due to a road closure.
The drivers are afraid, the Brega official said, because their cars, which contain flammable materials, are stuck in an area that has recently been targeted by airstrikes.
It is not yet known whether or not Brega has received government permission to distribute this type of aid to Derna.
