Benghazi, 24 March 2015:
Benghazi’s Benina district has been reconnected to the Libyana mobile phone network after a break of . . .[restrict]some eight months.
The disruption was due to power outages at the airport and the Buatni road and the fact that the area has been a battleground since last July.
Libyana says that thanks to the efforts of its technicians and engineers the service has now been restored.
The Almadar mobile network, however, remains out of service because its main office is in Lethi district. It remains a stronghold of Islamic State gunmen and far to dangerous for technicians to go to. [/restrict]
