Malta, 13 March 2015:
A million cooking gas cylinders and some 25,000 tons of fuel are expected to arrive in eastern Libya, Prime Minister Abdullah Thinni revealed at his latest cabinet meeting in Beida.
The fuel is expected be delivered to Tobruk’s Hariga port. Thursday’s cabinet heard that the shipment is expected to met the needs of the eastern region. The arrival of one million cooking gas cylinders will ease the acute shortage of cylinders in the east.
There have been intermittent fuel and cooking gas crises all over Libya since the 2011 revolution, but the shortages in eastern Libya have been particularly bad. [/restrict]
