Tripoli, 26 February 2015:
A young Zliten boy who was kidnapped from right in front of his house earlier . . .[restrict]this week has escaped his captors, leading to two arrests.
Faris Ali Ajeel, age 12, was snatched in full view of his father by armed gunmen on Monday evening, according to the Municipal Council of Zliten’s official Facebook page.
The kidnappers threatened to kill the boy if an LD 200,000 ransom was not paid for his release.
Ajeel managed to escape on Tuesday evening, and after an interview with authorities, was able to lead the police to two of the criminals, leading to their arrests.
It is not yet known whether the kidnappers only wanted money or had other motives for kidnapping the boy, but an investigation of the incident is underway. [/restrict]
