Tripoli, 16 February 2015:
Tripoli’s Fashloum district was rocked by fighting for much of last night as residents fought . . .[restrict]back against the Nawasi Brigade who had reportedly seized a local man.
The violence began shortly after sunset following the arrest of a supposed supporter of Operation Dignity. The fighting was fiercest near the Zawiat Dahmani roundabout. It involved a wide range of weapons, including RPGs and heavy-calibre machine guns. An eye-witness told the Libya Herald that his building was shaking, so ferocious were the exchanges of fire.
The casualties from the night-long fighting are not yet known. Health officials are expected to issue a statement later today.
