Malta, 20 January 2015:
The Libyan Industrial Union (LIU) has announced today that it is organizing a conference or . . .[restrict]a workshop on the Libyan economy in the coming days. It has invited all those interested in participating to contact it.
The LIU has not confirmed the exact date or location of the intended conference.
”Libya is currently passing through a difficult economic period and this is especially the case with its foreign currency reserves’’, the LIU said.
”And as a result of this huge exhaustion of its foreign currency reserves, together with the decline in the state’s revenues due to the decline in oil prices, the LIU is planning to organize a workshop or conference to discuss the role of local industry in limiting the exhaustion of public funds and the preservation of foreign currency reserves in the state’s coffers’’.
”We therefore hope that all will participate in formulating the idea and in putting forward any suggestions or subjects that would make this important economic event successfu”’, the LIU concluded.
