Professor of Constitutional Law and noted legal expert Masood Al-Kanuni was kidnapped in Tripoli Monday.
Kanoni, in his . . .[restrict]mid 70s, was attacked by a group of armed men in broad daylight yesterday afternoon while leaving the Mahari Market in the Zawiat Dahmani area of Tripoli. His whereabouts are yet unknown.
He is well known for his progressive ideas and his criticism of the Supreme Court’s decision in October regarding the legitimacy of the House of Representatives (HoR). Because of a public letter challenging the ruling, many of his friends urged him to leave the capital, but he refused. [/restrict]
