On the occasion of holding its General Assembly, last Tuesday 27 October, the Tripoli Court of Appeals:

- Affirmed its adherence to the independence of the judiciary, as it is an "inherent constitutional immunity", stressing the need for a complete separation of powers and the rejection of any interference in the work of the judiciary or influencing its rulings.

- The Court stressed the need to respect the authority of the rulings of the Supreme Court's Constitutional Chamber, as it has the final say in constitutional legitimacy, and its rulings are binding on all state authorities and institutions.

- The General Assembly rejected the amendment of the laws regulating the judiciary outside the constitutional track, warning against circumventing it through exceptional measures, including 4+4 committees or unilateral decisions, as they may harm the independence of the judiciary.

- The Court stressed its adherence to the unity of the judicial body and rejects any attempts to fragment it, considering that the strength of the judiciary lies in its unity and cohesion, and that it will remain away from political and regional tensions and a safe haven for all.
