Benghazi, 16 December 2014:
In what is seen as a sign of the restoration of normality in Benghazi, the Birkah . . .[restrict]police station re-opened yesterday. This is in spite of the fact that armed clashes continue in the city.
The station was attacked five times in 2013 and completely destroyed. The ongoing attacks on police, army personnel, politicians and activists were one of the factors that reportedly prompted General Khalifa Hafter to begin his campaign against “terrorists” in Benghazi in May of this year.
The new station has been re-built in the same location as the old station. [/restrict]
