Tripoli, 3 October 2014:
The body of controversial GNC politician Mohamed Kilani, was today handed over to his family, . . .[restrict]almost three weeks after he was killed in fighting between Libya Dawn and Warshefana forces.
Warshefana militiamen came across his corpse in the combat and removed it from the battlefield. Kilani, who was suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of then-prime minister Ali Zeidan last year, died a day after a fellow suspect in that abduction, Libyan Revolutionaries Operation Room (LROR) head, Shaaban Hadia Al-Zawi, better known as Abu Obeida, was seriously injured and captured by Warshefana forces.
The return of Kilani’s corpse was negotiated between civic leaders in Sabratha and Warshefana. It was unclear this evening what concession Warshefana had received in return. Kilani’s family took his body away for burial in Zawia, the town he had represented in the GNC. [/restrict]
