Toyota Libya has not shut down: management

Tripoli, 12 August 2014:

Claims that Toyota’s Libyan operations have been suspended at their Misrata head office have been denied . . .[restrict]by top management there.

There had been social media reports that the Toyota facility, which includes a state-of-the-art training school, had been closed.

“I am in my Misrata office and working normally ” Abdulraheim Muftah  Deputy Manager of Toyota Libya’s Corporate Division told the Libya Herald today. “Despite the challenges posed by the security situation and a drop in sales, we are working normally”.

The Toyota training school in the city’s Free Trade Zone has been running  since November 2012. In that time 35 Libyans from around the country have graduated from the three-month Discover Your Talent programme, which includes general maintenance, administrative skills and English language.
