There had been social media reports that the Toyota facility, which includes a state-of-the-art training school, had been closed.
“I am in my Misrata office and working normally ” Abdulraheim Muftah Deputy Manager of Toyota Libya’s Corporate Division told the Libya Herald today. “Despite the challenges posed by the security situation and a drop in sales, we are working normally”.
The Toyota training school in the city’s Free Trade Zone has been running since November 2012. In that time 35 Libyans from around the country have graduated from the three-month Discover Your Talent programme, which includes general maintenance, administrative skills and English language. The latest batch of 14 students was awarded certificates at a ceremony this May attended by senior Toyota executives from Japan. [/restrict]
