Tripoli 30 July 2014:
Coastguards have recovered some 150 bodies off the coast from Khoms and found pieces of wreckage . . .[restrict]thought to come from the boat on which they had been travelling.
The tragedy was uncovered after some corpses were found on a beach yesterday. A coastguard vessel later discovered dozens more bodies floating in the sea around bits of wreckage about two miles off the coast. No survivors were located. The victims all appeared to sub-Saharan Africans and are believed to have included women and children.
A member of the Coastguard told the Libya Herald that it was understood that the doomed vessel had set off from Garabulli on Monday night.
