Gunmen ambush ambulance and murder patient en route to Zawia

Tripoli, 21 July 2014:

A Zuwara Hospital ambulance was attacked while transporting a patient from Sabratha Hospital to Zawia Hospital . . .[restrict]on Saturday afternoon. The Zuwara ambulance runs a circuit covering all of the hospitals in the area.

Riding in the ambulance were the driver, a Ukranian nurse and the patient from Zawia who had been injured in fighting in Sabratha.

After leaving Sabratha, the ambulance continued down the road to Sorman. It was there that the vehicle was ambushed and stopped.
