Benghazi, 27 June 2014:
Operation Dignity, forces loyal to General Khalifa Hafter, have promised swift vengeance for . . .[restrict]the brutal slaying of human rights activist Salwa Bugaighis in Benghazi.
The spokesman for Operation Dignity Mohamed Hejazi told the Libya Herald that dignity forces would carry out airstrikes over the Benghazi districts of Hawari, Gwarsha and Sidi Faraj in response to the murder. He added the Hafter’s airforces had already carried out air attacks on Ansar Al-Sharia members based at the former compound of Qaddafi official Abu Bakr Younis Jabr.
He denounced Bugaighis’ killers as “cowards” saying Operation Dignity would “take revenge for her soul”, and calling her a martyr for Libya. The Dignity forces, he said, were fighting to put an end to the activities of terrorist groups and asked Libyans not to lose hope in these trying times.
