Tripoli, 20 May 2014:
The women’s section of Derna’s Haraish Hospital was attacked today, allegedly by one of the town’s . . .[restrict]many Islamist militias. There was limited damage.
No explanation has been given for the attack, although according to a reporter in the town it may have ben hit because of the presence of male doctors in the unit, considered by Islamists to be haram.
When contacted by phone, local officials did not want to talk to the media about the incident when asked and hung up.
Yesterday a massive explosion hit the Interior Ministry’s offices in the city, wounding four civilians who had to be hospitalised. They included a child and a woman. There was considerable material damage to the building as well as to neighbouring houses. [/restrict]
