Tripoli, 11 May 2014:
Vandals attacked and destroyed a new Libyana telecoms station in the Suf . . .[restrict]Al-Jeen valley near Mizdah on Friday morning.
Deputy Telecommunications Minister Mohammed Bilras Ali told the Libya Herald the vandals had burnt tyres at the station’s base and riddled it with bullets, destroying several solar panels.
“This destruction is unfortunate, especially under current conditions and we condemn this vile act,” he said.
Bilras Ali added that the station was still being built and would have been connected to the main network soon.
The reason for the attack is unknown.
