Tripoli, 3 May 2014:
Thieves netted LD 800,000 in an overnight raid on the Tajoura branch . . .[restrict]of the Bank of North Africa.
Staff, alerted to the raid, went in on Friday morning to find the bank safe empty. A bank official told the Libya Herald that the thieves had managed to cut their way into both the bank and safe using two oxyacetylene torches.
They had been undisturbed, he added, because the night guard had gone home to bed. [/restrict]
