London, 19 May 2014:
British Airways and state-owned airline Afriqiyah Airlines both plan to run scheduled flights between London and . . .[restrict]Tripoli tomorrow, unless the security situation in the capital deteriorates.
“We continue to operate flights to and from Libya,” a BA spokesman told the Libya Herald, adding that the next scheduled flight to Tripoli was tomorrow. “We continue to monitor the situation closely,” he added.
The airline suspended its Libya services for a month earlier this year after a security breach at Tripoli International Airport.
Afriqiyah Airways said it expected tomorrow’s Tripoli – London Gatwick – Tripoli flights to run as normal. It cancelled today’s service between Libya and the UK on security grounds but said affected passengers could rebook on tomorrow’s services. [/restrict]
