Tripoli, 3 April 2014:
Tripoli Women’s Hospital has reopened after being closed for more than a year while extensive maintenance and refurbishment . . .[restrict]work was underway.
The hospital, at the end of Omar Mukhtar Street, specialises in gynaecology and obstetrics. Despite still lacking some equipment, it would now start receiving patients, the hospital’s Director Arif Mesabhi said.
He said the reopening of the facility, which was closed after a virus outbreak, was thanks to the efforts of both the Ministry of Health and the hospital management.
The six-storey building had two operating theatres, several areas set aside for children and more than 200 beds, Mesabhi said.
Tripoli Women’s Hospital was reopened by Ministry of Health officials and senior hospital staff on Tuesday, according to Libyan news agency LANA. [/restrict]
