Tripoli, 9 March 2014:
A campaign promoting Sebha’s municipal elections has begun, with registration open to voters until 13 March.
Head . . .[restrict]of Sebha Local Council Ayoub Al-Zaroug told the Libya Herald that campaigning began on Saturday. A number of posters informing the public about the elections and registration had appeared around the town.
The Head of Sebha’s Al-Jadeed sub-council, Mahdi Al-Basaikri, said posters were aimed at encouraging voters and getting across that registration was essential.
The council was working to ensure that those who lived in Sebha but had their ‘family books’ registered outside the town would still be able to vote, Basaikri said. He added that registration was also available via SMS although only to those who had registered themselves as Sebha residents. [/restrict]
