Benghazi, 20 January 2014:
Two soldiers in Libyan Army were found shot dead in the early hours of this morning . . .[restrict]in the Gunfuda area on the outskirts of Benghazi.
Local residents found the bodies of the men, who appeared to have been shot in the head in execution-style killings, at around 3 am. They reported the incident and members of the Saiqa Special Forces came and took the bodies to Benghazi Medical Centre.
One of the men has reportedly been identified as Said Hamad Abdullah. The identity of the other man has not yet been disclosed.
A member of Saiqa was also targeted early this morning in a grenade attack on his house which severely injured his brother.
The man, who has not been named for security reasons, was dropped off at his home, in Benghazi’s Kish district, at around 6 am by a colleague. It appears that assailants were laying in wait for him and threw a grenade over the wall of his property into the garden.
His brother came out of the house after the explosion, at which point a second grenade was thrown over the wall. This exploded, severely injuring the man as well as damaging a car in the property and causing some structural damage. [/restrict]
