Over one million register for constitutional elections on final SMS registration day

Tripoli, 1 January 2014:

As of 9 am today the High National Elections Commission HNEC has registered . . .[restrict]1,001,910 people on the SMS voter registration system.

Of these, 594,960 (59.4%) are men and 406,950 (40.6%) are women.

Outside of Libya 5,131 have been registered to vote, of which 3,563 are men and 1,568 are women.
