Immigration official Hakim Guma Al-Arabi’s car was set ablaze in a grenade attack this morning

Benghazi, 4 December 2013:

An immigration official and a Libyan Navy diver were killed in two separate attacks this . . .[restrict]morning in Benghazi.

An immigration official working in the city’s passport office, Hakim Guma Al-Arabi, was killed instantly when a grenade was thrown into his vehicle, setting it ablaze, according to Libyan news agency LANA. The incident happened in downtown Benghazi near Arabi’s place of work.

In a separate incident this morning, a diver in the Libyan Navy, Mohammed AbduSalam Al-Rayani, was also killed instantly when he was shot outside his house, an official source told the Libya Herald.

This is the third such shooting outside victims’ homes in the city in four days. A member of the Libyan Air Force, Salah Idrissy was shot dead in front of his young son on Sunday. The next day a member of the Preventative Security force, Misbah Gbaylli, was killed when he was shot twice in the head.

A spokesperson for Al-Jalaa Hospital in Benghazi confirmed to the Libya Herald that it received the bodies of both Arabi and Rayani. [/restrict]
