Tripoli, 24 December 2013:
Investigators looking into Sunday’s Bersis bombing which left some 13 people dead do not think . . .[restrict]that it was a suicide attack, a source in the team has informed the Libya Herald.
The investigation is looking into the possibility that the bomb was set off remotely. According to the source, parts of a mobile phone attached to the remains of the bomb have been found.
The discovery is said to have resulted in two theories, the first being that the bomb was placed in the vehicle without the driver’s knowledge, the second being that he was asked to deliver a package by the killers.
The source said that the preliminary forensic investigation was continuing and further information was expected to be discovered in the next few days.
There have been reports that the vehicle used as the bomb was stationary at the time and that there was no driver inside. [/restrict]
