Benghazi, 15 November 2013:
An officer in Benghazi’s Special Forces was shot dead last night whilst manning a checkpoint in the city.
Ahmed . . .[restrict]Hamouda Salem died from a gunshot wound to the heart, according to Libyan news agency LANA.
The checkpoint where Salem was shot, at the Jaab roundabout in Dubai Street has apparently been previously been attacked.
An Imam – a former military officer – was also killed in Benghazi yesterday when an explosive device planted under his vehicle was detonated. [/restrict]
