Customs officials at the Egyptian border town at Salloum have seized a large quantity of beer, . . .[restrict]allegedly en route to Libya.
The refrigerated truck is said by Egyptian officials to have come from Tobruk. The driver, a Libyan national, has been detained and is in the custody of the Egyptian prosecutors’ office.
Smuggling is said to be rife in Tobruk, and a major contributor to the local economy. [/restrict]
