A petrol tanker driver had a lucky escape today when his tanker overturned and exploded.
The accident . . .[restrict]happened near the Brega Marketing Company’s fuel depot on Tripoli’s Airport Road. According to the Zintan Media Centre, the truck was in a collision with a car after he exited from the depot. The truck driver lost control of his vehicle which then overturned. Members of a Zintan brigade stationed by the depot were able to rescue him before the tanker exploded.
Another report, however, says that there was no other vehicle involved and no collision and that the driver simply lost control. The incident is being investigated.
