Tripoli, 16 July 2013:
The people of Misrata are being encouraged to think about the future of their city in a special . . .[restrict]Ramadan event.
‘Misrata in quarter a century: how do you see it or wish it to become?’ is being organised by the Science and Technology Society in Misrata.
There will be lectures, workshops and discussions proposing new ideas and visions for the city. The society says it wants to prepare for Misrata’s future and is encouraging active participation in the event. Topics to be discussed will include telecommunications, education, industry and environment.
The event opened yesterday, with a lecture entitled ‘Aspiring for the future,’ followed by a discussion about the development of media over the next 25 years. As well as members of the society, the dean of Misrata University, professors, students and young people attended the opening night.
The ‘Misrata in quarter a century’ is being held in the Morganti cafe. It will run on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays, until Saturday 27 July.
