Tripoli, 29 July 2013:
A French forensic team is heading to Tripoli today to help Libyan security experts work on . . .[restrict]the recent assassinations and bombings in Benghazi.
“These are criminal investigation experts,” spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Rami Kaal, told the Libya Herald. “They will investigate the recent assassinations in general,” including that of political activist Abdulsalam Musmari, he said, as well as last night’s dual bomb attack in central Benghazi.
He said the French team were coming to Tripoli today and would then be heading for the east of the country, to look at the crime scenes in Benghazi.
Three men were assassinated in Benghazi on Friday, one of whom was shot in the back while he was praying in a mosque. No-one has yet been arrested for any of these, or other recent assassinations in the locale.
French forensic experts also came to Libya in April this year, following the car-bombing of the French embassy in Tripoli. [/restrict]
