Tripoli, 10 July 2013:
The Ministry of Local Government and the local council of Zliten, have honoured three garbage collectors for handing over a bag of gold and silver, which they found in trash bins in the town.
The loot discovered by the employees of the General Company for Cleaning Services, was immediately turned in and after investigations by Zliten’s Office of Public Services, the valuables were returned to their rightful owner.
According to the Libyan News Agency, the head of the media office at the Ministry stated that the workers’ behaviour showed dedication and honesty, particularly in such trying times.
The three local men have been named as Osama Attia, Faraj Abukresh and Salem Abdusalam. Each received certificates, gifts, monetary rewards and were bestowed with the Zliten Shield for Excellence and Creativity, in celebration of their good deeds. The ceremony was held on Monday and was attended by several officials, including Zliten congress members and head of the municipal guards, Colonel Omran Shalghum. [/restrict]
