Tripoli, 19 May 2013:
Bani Walid councillors are forming a committee to investigate accusations of administrative and financial irregularities at the local . . .[restrict]hospital.
The committee will investigate claims that the head of the hospital is responsible for poor administrative procedures and financial irregularities, according to Libyan news agency LANA.
It is not clear whether the move has any connection with the month-long strike staged number of the hospital’s employees. The strikers have been demanding the removal of the the hospital chief, along with other senior staff members. They claim that these officials are behind mismanagement and corruption, which are holding back the running and progress of the infirmary.
Bani Walid Coucil said that if there were substance in the allegations, the hospital’s boss would be removed and a replacement appointed by the Ministry of Health. [/restrict]
