Unknown assailants fired at RPG missile at the electricity sub station in Ghariyan, 80 kilometres south . . .[restrict]of Tripoli, on Sunday. The attack temporarily stopped the electricity supply.
an investigation into the incident according to a local official in Ghariyan. The head of the town’s Security Directorate, Colonel Mohamed Mabrouk, has said that there people were being treated as prime suspects, although no charges as yet were being brought against anyone.
A local source says that the reason for the bombing was a dispute over property ownership. The power plant was reportedly built on land belonging to a local resident who had repeatedly made requests to the General Electricity Company to relocate the station elsewhere. However, the company, allegedly, did not respond to his calls. [/restrict]
