Tripoli, 5 February 2013:
The Minister of the Interior Ashour Suleiman Shuwail said today, Tuesday, that it was not his ministry’s responsibility . . .[restrict]to protect the General National Congress. Rather the GNC had its presidential security guards to manage the task.
Shuwail said that that those who had accused the Interior Ministry of failing to protect the GNC building, after war-wounded thuwars, some armed, invaded it on Monday and refused to leave, did not understand the division of responsibilities.
“What happened with the storming of the GNC has nothing to do with the Interior Ministry,”, he said. “The GNC has a special presidential security guard to protect it, which is not connected with the Interior Ministry.” [/restrict]
