Benghazi, 22 January 2013:
A major fire broke out at the Tawergha refugee camp in Benghazi’s Abuhedama district early this morning, Tuesday, forcing 36 . . .[restrict]families out of their temporary accommodation. There were no serious casualties although the deputy head of Benghazi local council, Saad Omar Al-Saaiti, spoke of some people being injured, mostly with minor burns.
He said he was chairing a group to “determine the needs of those affected and to treat the wounded and injured by the fire”.
He added that the council was planning to provide food, funding and alternative temporary accommodation for the affected families in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs. [/restrict]
