The Integrity Commission has disbarred another member of the General National Congress. Amna Mahmoud Mohamed Takhikh, a member for . . .[restrict]Bani Walid, was ruled ineligible because she failed to match up to its standards, the Commission announcement today, Tuesday.
She is the ninth member of Congress and third Congresswomen to be disbarred.
Meanwhile it has been announced that the Supreme Court’s Administrative Chamber has rejected a final appeal by Ghat’s second Congressman from being disbarred.
The Commission’s spokesman, Nasser Bainour, announced yesterday, Monday, that the court had upheld its ruling against Abdulqader Sidi Omar Sidi Eshaikh El-Hash.
Just over a fortnight ago, the same court ruled that Mohamed Ibrahim Makhi Abdulqader who was elected as Ghat’s other independent Congress member had also lost his final appeal against the Commission’s decision to disbar him.
The Higher National Elections Commission now has to organise fresh elections for the Ghat constituency. [/restrict]
