Tripoli, 19 January:
Prime Minister Ali Zeidan confirmed at Wednesday’s press conference that a series of housing projects will be . . .[restrict]implemented soon.
Zeidan confirmed that stalled housing projects that had stopped because of the Revolution and that were over 70% complete, as well as some educational buildings, will be implemented.
In the health sector Zeidan revealed that the renovation and refurbishment of some hospitals had also commenced.
The Prime Minister did not give details of the value of the projects, their locations or the companies involved in their implementation.
Asked about the majority of Libya’s stalled projects estimated at about US$ 100 billion and the demand for compensation by foreign companies as a pre-requisite to returning to Libya, Zeidan side stepped the question saying that “there are numerous committees studying this” and that the matter “involves many legal issues”.
