Rome, 10 January 2013:
Deputy Prime Minister Awad Al-Barasi has called on Italian companies to invest in renewable energy projects in Libya . . .[restrict]and in a trans-Mediterranean electricity cable project between Libya and Italy.
Barasi, who was Electricity Minister in the previous Kib administration, was speaking at the opening session of the Italy-Libya Economic Forum in Rome today, Thursday.
Telling participants that Libya has development projects worth more than $100 billion, he urged Italian firms to join in them. Doing so, he said, would help boost the economies of both countries and in the process cut Italian and Libyan unemployment rates.
Most leading Italian companies are taking part in the forum.
