Tripoli, 27 July 2013:
Some of the capital’s most vulnerable elderly people this week shared their fast-breaking Iftar meal . . .[restrict]with senior government ministers.
Minister of Social Affairs, Kamila Khamis Al-Mazini, was joined by second and third deputy prime Ministers, Awad Al-Barasi and Abdussalam Al-Qadi, for the meal. The guests were all members of a local organisation that cares for aged citizens who have no close family.
During Iftar, the ministers chatted with the elderly citizens about everyday matters as they shared this important Ramadan meal.
The repast was part of an initiative to help bridge the gap between ordinary citizens and ministers, as well as providing an opportunity for government officials to check on the health and well-being of some of capital’s vulnerable inhabitants. [/restrict]
