Tripoli, 27 January 2013:
There were fresh protests outside the General . . .[restrict]National Congress building today, Sunday, demanding the dismissal of the General Chief of Staff, Yousef Mangoush.
According to Solidarity Press, the protestors demanded his removal on the grounds that he had failed to reactivate and deploy the army, and ensure the security of Libya’s borders.
Last Tuesday, dozens of security personnel forced their way into the General National Congress building and met with the President of Congress to press demands that Mangoush be replaced.
Since then, Mangoush’s position is reported to be increasingly shaky. [/restrict]
