Sirte reconstruction meeting

Sirte local Council met on Wednesday with the heads of Sirte international airport, Sirte sea port, the housing and public facilities . . .[restrict]projects, the development of administrative centers project and a number of city officials in order to follow up the latest reconstruction work at these institutions.

The Libyan News Agency reported that it was agreed during the meeting to find a mechanism to relocate headquarters and government buildings occupied by the thuwar, citizens and Sirte civil society institutions after coordination with the Directorate of National Security and the Auditing Bureau.

They also discussed the problems in fully restarting Sirte’s airport and sea port, the telecommunications and post office company, public services, water and sanitation, electricity, the municipal police, the ambulance services and the central committee for medical treatment abroad.

A monitoring committee was formed during the meeting to follow up the measures taken by the government on the reconstruction of the city including compensation for those affected, the construction of a prefabricated housing project in the city and rent payments on behalf of displaced and affected families.
