Industry Minister Mahmoud Futaisi discussed on Tuesday with the Maltese Minister of Finance, Economy and Investment, Tonio Fenech and . . .[restrict]Minister of Competition, Gibson Azopardi, aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry and future prospects.
Minister Futaisi expressed the gratitude and appreciations of all the help and support offered by the government and people of Malta to the Libyan people during the 17 February revolution. He stressed the desire and willingness of Libya to build strong and sincere relationships between the two countries and to start joint cooperation in various fields.
The Maltese Minister of Finance, Economy and Investment confirmed his country’s readiness to strengthen cooperative relations with Libya, especially at the economic level. He hoped to give new impetus to the promotion and expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries and to encourage small and medium-sized companies to enhance bilateral cooperation.
He welcomed the idea of arranging meetings between businessmen of both countries, especially with regard to the building and maintenance of ships.
The Maltese official confirmed his country’s desire to promote cooperation in the fields of small and medium enterprises, and its willingness to consolidate mutual cooperation in the future to explore ways of finding alternatives to oil in Libya.
