A charity based in Zintan that takes care of orphans as swell as providing humanitarian services and crisis management in the . . .[restrict]town has opened a branch in Tunisia. The Ikhlas Association made the announcement of its new branch at a press conference on Monday, 27 February, in the Tunisian town of Hamamat. The local branch charity aims to help Tunisians as well Libyans in need.
The vice president of the association, Khalifa Duwib, stated that there are Libyan businessmen and many Libyan citizens who support the association through the contributions they make. He stressed the important role that the organisation had played during the 17 February revolution in Libya, helping many families, especially in the Nafusa Mountains.
Thuraya Al-Shilli, head of the Tunisian branch, said that cooperation between Tunisia and Libya must begin with charity work, especially between organisations. She said that the association had dispatched a convoy from the Tunisian town of Thala to nearby Al Dishra. The assistance included woollen blankets and clothing for needy families following the cold spell in Tunisia’s north-west region. [/restrict]
