Another deputy leader of the Presidency Council, Abdussalam Kajman, has denounced the bombing of civilians in Derna by the Libyan National Army led by Khalifa Hafter. It was a crime against humanity, he said, and there was no difference between it and what the so-called Islamic State did in the town before they were forced out.
His condemnation follows that of fellow Presidency Council member Ahmed Maetig yesterday, but is far stronger.
Writing on his Facebook page, Kajman said that such bombings were a violation of the Libyan Political Agreement and that any military action that was not approved by the Government of National Accord (GNA) was illegitimate and had to stop.
Like Maetig, Kajman, who is from the south of Libya, is deeply opposed to the LNA and to Hafter. However, his opposition is ideological. He is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.
