Benghazi, 22 January 2016:
The President of the House of Representatives, Ageela Saleh, has ordered a parliamentary investigation into . . .[restrict]yesterday’s claims by Opertation Dignity’s former spokesman, Colonel Mohamed Hejazi, that General Khalifa Hafter was involved in corruption and numerous other crimes.
The HoR’s defence committee had already separately also called for an inquiry.
It is meanwhile reported that following an arrest warrant being issued for him in response to his attack on Hafter, Hijazi is now said to have fled to Ajdabiya. There, he is being provided protection by Ibrahim Jadhran, the head of central region Petroleum Facilities Guards.
Jadhran is an increasingly bitter foe of Hafter. [/restrict]
