Benghazi, 12 April 2015:
General Khalifa Hafter, the commander of the Libyan armed forces, has flown to the Jordanian . . .[restrict]capital, Amman for talks on military collabortion.
Despite the offensive in Benghazi, he is accompanied by the Army, Navy and Air Force Chiefs of Staff and other senior members of General Command.
According to the Jordan’s Petra news agency, the visit will last several days and follows an invitation from the Chairman of Jordan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Mohammed Zabin.
It is reported that in addition to meetings with Jordanian military chiefs, Hafter will visit Libyan soldiers training in Jordan and well as injured soldiers being treated in the country.
Last month, Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni was in Jordan looking for military help to fight terrorism. It was reported at the time that a deal on equipment, technical facilities and further military training was been reached although nothing was officially announced other than a general statement that Jordan would provide support for Libya.
