Tobruk, 3 November 2014:
The Russians plan to open a temoporary consulate in Tobruk according to a member of . . .[restrict]the House of Representatives. Requesting anonymity, the member indicated that the decision followed the visit late last month to Tobruk by the Russian ambassador, Ivan Molotkov. The ambassador was also in Beida the same day for talks with Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni about his upcoming visit to Moscow.
It has not been possible to contact the Russian embassy to confirm the report.
Meanwhile, Egyptian diplomats based in Tobruk are still looking for appropriate premises for their new consulate. They have been working out of a hotel in the town ever since arriving in September. [/restrict]
